Review

The Diva Digs up the Dirt is another hit by Krista Davis. Once again Sophie finds herself spread too thin between her work and her love life. She has just finished up her party planning season, by planning the company social for Roscoe Greene, but, her summer freedom quickly disappears with the appearance of a strange woman asking for Sophie’s help to find her missing daughter.

Sophie apologizes to the woman, denying that she cannot help her find her daughter, only to find herself caught up in the same mystery disappearance. Sophie soon discovers that the missing daughter and missing wife of Wolf, her boyfriend, are the same person.

At the same time Sophie finds herself under attack by Natasha. Natasha has decided to make herself in to a national TV Diva by allowing a TV home repair show to make over Sophie’s backyard. Not only does Sophie’s life with Wolf start to come apart, but so does her backyard.

Like all the previous diva mysteries Sophie takes on the role of amateur sleuth and pulls off daring and slightly dangerous deeds. The Diva Digs up the Dirt is a delightful trip in to the southern gentility of Davis’ wonderfully thought out characters. Old Town Alexandria just jumps out at you, making it a wonderful setting.  I loved this book, and fans of the cozy mystery genre should not miss it! I can’t wait for the next one!
