My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who’s sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I’m not sure anyone can survive it.

This time, there will be no turning back. {goodreads.com}

Review

The story picks up right where The Iron Daughter left off, with Ash and Megan banished from faery.
Megan quickly learns that although the “Old Ones” want nothing to do with her, the Iron Faeries wish to capture her for themselves. Leading her and Ash to rely on favors to get them to safety.
Megan begins to learn how to use her Iron Fey powers, which ultimately give her some troubles, leading Ash and Puck to teach her how to defend herself.
All this of course leads to the fight between the “Old Ones” and the Iron Fey.
All said and done, this was an amazing book. Kagawa does a wonderful job snagging you in and making you stay.
Her world is so wonderfully crafted that you can almost see the fey out of the corner of your eye.
The plot was flawless. I did not see any error in her ability to tell the story. It flowed gracefully from one scene to the next, never seeming forced.
The characters definitely grew throughout this novel. Megan learned that she can no longer float between worlds, that for her safety and the safety of the ones she loves, she must choose faery. Ash, became even more human. So much so that when he slipped his faery mask on, the entire tone darkened. Puck, learned to deal with his unrequited love to Megan. Oberon, learned to see his daughter as she truly is. And Mab, learns to show some compassion (not much, and it almost killed her, but some).
This is such a great addition to the series, and I absolutely cannot wait for the next one!
