I absolutely love reading mythical or spooky books in the Fall and these definitely qualify!
Trial by Fire is one of the books I had to include in my list! I am so excited for it… I should probably also read The Darkest Minds. I’m definitely behind.

I really enjoyed Angelfall! It was a bit gory, but I loved the unique plot and interesting characters. X

Interesting. You are the first to describe Angelfall as gory. Good to know! Thank you!

Egg and Spoon sounds like an interesting tale! Though, I’m still wondering how many children/MG’s would actually read something of that nature (even if it’s penned by the guy who wrote Wicked etc.)

You know I haven’t thought about that, but that is an interesting question. Would normal middle grade readers pick this book on their own? I have no idea, but I can almost guarantee that it will end up on school riding lists, being that McGuire is super famous and it is a retelling. Will be interesting to see in the coming months.

I love the characters in the Carriger series, and it’s fun to see the world before Soulless, too. Angelfall is pretty fascinating stuff, though I wish more of the series was published.

I started listening to Etiquette & Espionage, but couldn’t finish it in time before the due date, and finally decided to just get it from the library in physical form, and it is my direct next to read, so hopefully I can jump in with everyone else and praise this book.
